Ta Dah! Holiday Socks
Weekly Happiness: #4

WIP Wednesday: Neon Beach Socks

As I mentioned in yesterdays post, I've plunged right back into another sock project and they're quite the contrast to my Holiday Socks!

There's also a bit of a difference this time, in that I've come up with the slipped stitch pattern myself. It's super easy to remember (great car/movie knitting) I look forward to writing it up and sharing that with you at a later date.

As you can see, the slipped stitches give the socks a very neat 'ridged' effect which works well with the colour saturated yarn. It's not too plain but is also not so fancy that it distracts from how beautiful the yarn is.

The yarn I'm using is Regia Fluormania in 'Neon Beach'. I absolutely love this range and I've used two of the other shades before.  I have a plain pair in Neon Rainbow (see here) and my mother has a ribbed pair in 'Neon Ocean' (here).  Besides the ball I'm using right now, I have two more balls of Fluormania in my stash.

So yeah.... I'm a big fan.

I'm sure that's not much of a shock as it should be blantantly obvious by now that I love anything bright and colourful. Particularly yarn and sock yarn all the more!

This week's WIP Wednesday comes to you from my desk at work. As it's such a miserable day, and I prefer to use natural light when taking photographs of my knitting, I thought I'd stay in this lunchtime. Unfortunately, I didn't think to bring my camera to work with me, so I apologise in advance for the photograph quality but they've all been taken on my iPhone. It's such a lousy day today; this is what I can see from my desk right now...

I'm kind of glad I bought my sock project into work with me today. I love how colourful it is; it can't fail to bring a smile to my face on an otherwise miserable wet and grey day.

How do you stop the weather getting you down?

Do you also keep bright and colourful items on your needles to keep your spirits up in the winter?
