Hello and welcome to my blog!
I'm Lisa: a British 20-something graduate, originally from South Lincolnshire.
I set up this site in June 2015, after finishing my Masters degree and finding myself with a lot more free time to dedicate to my hobbies. My main interests are crafts, food, history, photography and reading, all of which I intend to write about here.
At present, I also own two very human and photogenic Maine Coon cats who live with my parents. Prone to photobombing if they aren't given enough attention, Eddie and Murphy are likely to be referenced and appear frequently in my posts. Apparently, their near-singular dominance of my Instagram/Twitter/Facebook feeds just isn't enough...
What's your 'day job'?
I work as an analyst at a patient safety software company that provides risk and incident reporting software to the NHS and various other healthcare providers.
Which University did you go to/what did you study?
Between 2011 and 2014, I studied at Nottingham University, and graduated with first class degree in History. Next, I went on to study for an MPhil in Modern European History at Homerton College, Cambridge. I graduated in November 2015.
Which camera do you use?
I currently use a Nikon D3300 with the following lenses:
I probably use the 18-200mm, 50mm and 35mm the most. When I don't have my camera around, I use my iPad or iPhone 6 to take quick snaps. I edit my photographs in Adobe Photoshop CC :-).
Have you had any photographic training?
No, I've taught myself from various books and I'm still learning more and more as I go along. I'd love to get some formal lessons eventually.
How old are your cats?
Murphy was born in 2004, and Eddie was born in 2006.
Have you taken any cookery classes?
Nope. I did very well in Food Technology at A Level and GCSE but that's about it!
Who taught you to knit/crochet?
My Grandmother. It's something I'll always be grateful for, as is brings me so much peace and pleasure.
Which blogs do you read?
I'll come back to this one - it's quite a long list!
Do you go to any kind of knitting group/stitch n bitch?
I pop along to the iKnit group over in Waterloo but this has become far more occasional than I like now that I work closer to home.
